Introduction

It all started on a warm January morning in Miami where fate decided to bring us together at Barry University in our Communication Law class.

How We Met

Justin was sitting with an iced coffee from Dunkin’ Donuts speaking with friends, when Maya walked in late looking for a spot in the back of the class. What started as a hilarious sarcastic conversation about Justin’s tattoo turned into a semester of friendship. Maya and Justin reconnected on December 27th, 2020 which turned into a five hour conversation about our lives, family, and travel.

Early Days

Our first date was a 7 hour drive around South Florida and ended with lunch at Chick Fil A (Maya’s favorite). From there our connection deepened with each passing day. We spent weekdays facetiming for 10+ hours a day, and the weekends were spent exploring hidden gems, and creating unforgettable memories.

Falling in Love

It was during our first trip to Rome, Italy in the summer of 2021 that we realized we had found something truly special and rare with each other. Being in such a beautiful place with stunning views, historical moments and each other made the everyday experience special. The pasta, the wine, the laughter, and the quiet moments with each other made us fall deeply in love. Although we were in a country where neither of us spoke the language, the feeling of being completely understood with each other made us know this was it.

Memorable Experiences

Our relationship was marked with countless adventures, from spontaneous trips all over the world, to quiet nights watching our favorite crime shows. One of our favorite memories was a day trip to Florence, Italy where it rained all day but we spent the day drinking wine at Mercato Centrale and enjoying each other’s company.

The Proposal

On a chilly evening in March, Justin proposed in our hotel room in London where he got down on one knee and asked Maya to be his forever. From there, Maya and Justin went to celebrate their upcoming nuptials in Paris, the city of love.

Conclusion

We are excited to begin this new chapter of our lives as husband and wife and can't wait to celebrate with you in July! We are grateful for the journey that brought us here and look forward to building a future filled with love, laughter, our families and friends, and endless adventures.
